ABOUT OUR TOURNAMENT

The RL Gant Sports Get Checked! Celebrity Golf Classic is a 3-day gathering of current and former professional athletes, business executives and entertainers, to discuss strategies to get the word out on the need of both men and women to, Get Checked!

Today among African American men, 19 percent will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and five percent of those will die from it. In fact, prostate cancer is the fourth most common reason overall for death of African American men.

The incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer varies by sex, race, and ethnicity. Overall, African American males and females have higher incidence and mortality rates than white, American Indian and Alaska Native, Latino, Asian and Pacific Islander males and females.

Our mission is to educate "all men and women regardless of race and ethnicity", about these important health issues, during the event.

Then, we all will take this information into our locker rooms, clubhouses, to film and TV sets, backstage in theaters and performance venues, to our dressing rooms, businesses suites, barber, beauty shops and to our communities.

The Golf Classic provides an opportunity to use our collective influence, to inform and educate everyone about how early screening saves lives! To... Get Checked!
